Watch Emails – Don’t Get Ripped Off

With billions of domain names up for renewal, it is hard to imagine the amount of money that unsuspecting domain owners might be losing with rip-off emails and regular postal mail like this one I received. And this isn’t the first time I’ve seen a “form” email like this:

First of all, if it’s in your junk folder, it probably IS junk. In this case, the domain name is repeated several times, and I know the notice is not from anyone I know. I also know the domain in question expired some time ago.

Watch out for emails like this. Do not pay anyone or any company if you are not absolutely sure. No phone number to call, no company mentioned to contact…..common sense, people….
